Affordable Employee Training Exclusively for NJBIA Members LEARN MORE

So much attention is rightfully being paid to our overall health and welfare and adjusting to life in our new norm.

But what you may have missed is how NJBIA has been working on behalf of New Jersey’s business community to bring as much immediate relief as possible, and to ensure a prudent and responsible recovery on the other side.

In addition to having regular discussions with Governor Murphy’s administration and our policymakers on business concerns during the COVID-19 response, NJBIA has assembled and worked alongside more than 70 state business and nonprofit groups to form a powerful coalition with the collective mission of helping New Jersey businesses.

Over the past few weeks and days, the following actions have been taken:

  • Legislative Solutions: Put forth recommendations to the Legislature for a COVID-19 Relief Package – with some of those proposals already written into law and others being drafted as bills as we speak.
  • Increased State Grant and Loan Programs: Strongly encouraged to our state policymakers the allocation of more federal relief funding to NJEDA COVID-19 business recovery programs.
  • Expanded Federal Grant and Loan Programs: Urged New Jersey’s federal delegation to bring forth more funding for small businesses and provided recommendations on how the federal loan programs can be improved.

As we continue to work with our leadership on a recovery framework for New Jersey, we now ask for your input. Later today, you will receive a survey request specific to your industry and business, with the opportunity to share the economic impacts of COVID-19 on your business.

We will gather this data to form a recovery and reinvention framework and better inform our policymakers of what’s needed to best reestablish our economy.

We thank you for your continued engagement and support as we continue to work expeditiously on your behalf. It is an honor to represent you as employers and the backbone of our state’s economy.
