The Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee and the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee will meet jointly on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Committee Room 4, 1st Floor, State House Annex, Trenton, NJ.

The following bills will be considered:

A-2850 (McKeon / Burzichelli / DeAngelo) – Establishes and modifies clean energy and energy efficiency programs; establishes zero emission certificate program; modifies State’s solar renewable energy portfolio standards.

S-877 (Sweeney / Smith / Van Drew) – Establishes Nuclear Diversity Certificate program.

While not identical, both bills will be considered in committee and it is expected that one committee substitute will be released. The Senate version which originated last year, is now in its fourth publically available draft. Linked above is a proposed substitute for S-877, which was obtained by NJ Spotlight, and it is likely that there will still be additional changes between the draft released and the committee meeting Thursday.

NJBIA has been evaluating the impact to our members with each draft. We welcome the continued input and feedback on the possible changes from our members. Please email Sara with your thoughts.
