The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) has learned that the release of the Energy Master Plan (EMP) that will set the energy policy of the State has been postponed.

Initially, the draft plan was to be published in April and a final plan approved in June. The new timeframe will see a draft plan being released in June with a final plan being approved in December. This delay will allow the Board of Public Utilities to better address some of the complex energy policy decisions that need to be made. The extended timeframe between the draft being released and the final plan being adopted will also allow NJBIA and other entities more time to analyze the proposal and submit comments.

We encourage you to attend our upcoming Environment and Energy Policy Committee meeting, Friday, May 24 to share your perspective on the EMP and to hear from our guest speaker, Assemblywoman Nancy J. Pinkin (D-18), Chairwoman of the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee and Vice-Chair of the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee. Please register for our meeting by clicking here.
