Innovation
Dating back to the time of Thomas Edison, New Jersey has always been one of the world’s leading innovation hubs. Recognizing that our status as an innovation leader was being eroded, NJBIA worked with the Governor’s administration and Legislature in a collaborative effort to help return the state to its position of prominence by bolstering its innovation ecosystem.
Today, we are re-energizing our technology infrastructure, bringing together a diverse coalition of leading businesses, trade associations, higher education institutions and government. NJBIA has played a leading role in establishing the Innovation New Jersey Coalition and the State Council on Innovation. These initiatives are aimed at encouraging partnerships between research universities and business to increase collaboration, as well as fostering a national reputation as a high-tech economy. Visit our Resource page on this website for more information about Innovation.
NJBIA is working to advance the state’s research and development capabilities so New Jersey companies have more resources to innovate and compete in the global marketplace. New Jersey started it all, from Alexander Hamilton to Thomas Edison to John D. Rockefeller. We provide news on scientific innovation and collaboration through public-private partnerships.
