Don’t ignore bad reviews of your business on Yelp, says Susan Slovic of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council. To hammer home her point, she relays a story of how digging into one Yelp review wound up winning a small business owner a legal settlement.

“As painful and time consuming as it can be, never stop monitoring social media and review sites,” she writes. “I know that it’s tempting, but there is too much at stake and unfortunately, unlike a comment someone makes in person, things said online don’t go away.”
