Bell Theater at Bell Works will host a 25th Anniversary Observance for September 11th on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. in the Main Atrium at Bell Works.
The observance will be a one-hour ceremony that includes remarks by community leaders, the reading of the names of Monmouth County residents lost on 9/11, and live music by Monmouth Civic Chorus and special guests.
The Observance is in advance of a new production of Come From Away, the Tony Award-winning musical which tells the true story of 7,000 airline passengers from all over the world who were grounded in the small Canadian town of Gander in the wake of 9/11.
“We are honored to be presenting this remarkable musical to mark the 25th anniversary of the terrorists’ attacks on our nation, as we remember those whom we lost in the attacks, honor the many heroes who showed courage and resilience, and reconnect with our fellow Americans with a true spirit of patriotism and love of nation,” said Andrew DePrisco, producer and executive artistic director for the Axelrod Performing Arts Center.
The official opening performance of Come From Away is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
Regular performances will continue at Bell Theater from Sept. 12 through Oct. 4.
