Cigna Healthcare has selected Berkeley College as a recipient of its gold-level Healthy Workforce Designation for demonstrating a strong commitment to improving the health and vitality of its employees through a workplace well-being program.

Berkeley College is one of only 15 New Jersey organizations that earned the 2025 gold-level designation from Cigna Healthcare.

The Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation evaluates organizations based on the core components of their well-being programs, including workforce insights, strategy and culture, engagement and experience, and additional areas. Berkeley College promotes employee health and wellness through initiatives including biometric screenings, virtual Lunch and Learn activities, and Wellness Fairs – earning recognition for both engagement and accessibility.

“At Berkeley College, we know that when our associates thrive, our students benefit,” said Janette Williamson, Director, Human Resources, Berkeley College. “By offering accessible wellness programs both online and on-site, we foster greater engagement, healthier habits, and stronger work-life balance among our employees.”

According to Cigna Healthcare, workforce vitality is an essential catalyst for business and community growth, associated with better employee health and work-life engagement.

“Employers that prioritize workforce vitality – by addressing workplace stress, promoting healthy behaviors, and fostering a sense of competence, autonomy, and connection – are supporting employee well-being and driving organizational success,” said Bryan Holgerson, President, Cigna Healthcare U.S.

“As a company committed to creating better healthcare experiences and outcomes, we are proud to recognize and celebrate employers who are building cultures of well-being across all dimensions of vitality,” he said.
