Does a four-day work week increase productivity? It did at Microsoft.

According to 101.5 News Radio correspondent David Matthau, Microsoft said its decision to allow employees in Japan to work a four-day work week was followed by a 40% increase in productivity.

So he asked NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka if such an approach could work here.

“I think it’s all about organizations re-imagining the workplace in a way that aligns the culture and operational needs of that organization with the desires and needs of the workforce,” Siekerka said, stressing that such moves are not for every company or practical in every industry.
