Please join us for the NJBIA/State Chamber Joint Taxation & Economic Development Policy Committee Meeting. This meeting will be held online via Zoom.
We look forward to hearing from Mark Magyar, Director, Steve Sweeney Center for Public Policy, College of Humanities & Social Sciences, Rowan University, who will speak about the work he is doing on state budget forecasting and what it could mean for NJ’s economic outlook.
The meeting will also feature a discussion of current economic conditions in New Jersey. Additional speaker information will be announced shortly.

Meet Our Speaker:
Mark Magyar
Director, Steve Sweeney Center for Public Policy, College of Humanities & Social Sciences, Rowan UniversityA veteran public policy analyst, journalist and academic, Mark Magyar served as deputy executive director of the New Jersey Senate Majority Office before moving to Rowan as interim director of the Sweeney Center for Public Policy in 2022. He served as a senior policy adviser to Democratic Senate President Steve Sweeney, Republican Governor Christine Todd Whitman and the independent gubernatorial campaign of Chris Daggett.
For four years, the bipartisan Multi-Year Budget Workgroup that Magyar convened at Rowan has brought together public policy experts, economists and academics to provide four-year spending and revenue projections to the Governor and Legislature.
He teaches graduate courses in State and Local Government and Public Finance in Rowan’s Masters of Public Policy program and previously taught Labor Studies at Rutgers University for 12 years.
