Bipartisan solutions are more likely to produce stable, long-lasting policies and are less likely to be reversed when a new administration takes office. Throughout American history, major immigration reforms with lasting impact have relied on support from representatives of both major political parties.
This webinar will explore how we can revive bipartisan cooperation to create greater stability and effectiveness in immigration policy. Drawing on historical examples and current challenges, our speakers will discuss practical, bipartisan approaches to preserving the benefits of immigration while addressing legitimate concerns, strengthening public confidence in our immigration system, and identifying areas of common ground that can support effective, lasting solutions.
Theresa Cardinal Brown
Former Immigration Policy Director at the Bipartisan Policy Center, Consultant, Cardinal North StrategiesTheresa has worked in immigration law and policy for more than 30 years, including 12 years leading immigration and border issues at the Bipartisan Policy Center. Today, she continues this work through consulting and fellowships with leading organizations, providing thought leadership on immigration reform through research, advocacy, and practical policy solutions.
Her work focuses on bridging divides to address complex migration challenges and strengthen the integrity of the immigration system. Through the National Immigration Forum and the Council on National Security and Immigration, she draws on her government experience to advance bipartisan strategies that balance border security and national security with the economic and societal strengths immigration brings to the nation. Her efforts emphasize inclusive approaches that incorporate national security, law enforcement, and faith-based perspectives.
Theresa is a Fellow at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, former Immigration Policy Director at the Bipartisan Policy Center, and a member of the NJBIC Advisory Committee.
