A bill that would give banking access to the marijuana industry gained support by several U.S. senators.

On July 23, 2019, the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs held a hearing to discuss the Secure and Fair Enforcement (SAFE) Banking Act. The bill would help the billion-dollar marijuana industry, which deals almost exclusively in cash, get access to bank accounts.
