Fiserv, a leading global provider of payments and financial services technology solutions, invites those affiliated with the military community to its Military Career Symposium on Monday evening, Aug. 8.

Veterans, members of the Guard or Reserve, and military spouses are invited to attend and learn more about careers in fintech with a company that values military service and expertise. The Fiserv Military Career Symposium begins at 5 p.m., Aug. 8 at Round Table Studios, 200 Connell Drive, Berkeley Heights.

Registrants will have the opportunity to speak directly to Fiserv talent acquisition specialists and hiring managers and learn more about the benefits of working at Fiserv, which was honored as a 5-Star VETS Indexes Employer in 2022 in recognition of its outstanding efforts to hire, retain, promote, and support veterans.

Retired Col. Michael Canders, the director of the Aviation Center at Farmingdale State College, will be the guest speaker at the event. Canders was a military rescue pilot who served in both the U.S. Navy and Air Force and was Commander of the 106th Rescue Wing and USAF base in Baghdad.

Canders also worked for 23 years as an executive in the electronics manufacturing industry, culminating in his role as president of a $212 million division at Telephonics. His private sector career included an 8.5-year absence to return to full-time military service following the 9/11 attacks on the United States.
