NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka is among three businesses leaders who will be honored by the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey during its “Women of Vision” fundraiser on May 3.

A former Girl Scout who now leads the largest and most impactful statewide association representing New Jersey businesses, Siekerka will be recognized with an Inspiration Award for her “unwavering commitment to sharing her experience and knowledge to help other women succeed as leaders,” the Girl Scouts said.

Siekerka credits the lessons she learned in Girl Scouts with laying a strong foundation for her future success as a business leader.

“Girl Scouts helped me make the leader I am today – honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, responsible and respectful,” Siekerka said.

Also being honored at the event are former Girl Scout Marjorie A. Perry, CEO of MZM Construction Company, for her trailblazing climb to the top of the male-dominated construction industry where she continues to use her skills and knowledge to serve as a role model and inspiration for all women.

Ericsson Solutions Manager Neha Aneja will also receive an Inspiration Award at the awards breakfast.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available for the event, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Nanina’s in the Park, Belleville. The last day to purchase tickets is April 19.

Through the dedication of nearly 8,000 adult members, the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ) Council gives exceptional Girl Scout leadership experiences to more than 12,000 Girl Scouts ages 5 to 17 in Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Somerset, Union, and parts of Warren and Middlesex counties. GSHNJ has service centers in North Branch and Westfield along with camps in Middleville, Hillsborough and Maplewood.
