Hollywood East Media, a new community-driven media platform serving the East Coast independent film and arts scene, has officially launched.
The platform's mission is to connect and support independent and professional film companies, organizations, communities, and individuals as they share passion projects, special events, classes, and more.
At the heart of the project is founder Pearl Lee, a Bronx-born entrepreneur, producer, and pioneering force in the performing arts media world.
With over 30 years of industry experience, Lee was a pioneer in bringing ballet, opera, classical music, and fine arts programming from all over the world to home audiences. As co-owner of Kultur International Films—the world’s leading performing arts video publisher—she oversaw the exclusive distribution of an extensive catalog featuring more than 1,000 titles.
“The best part about all this progress on the East Coast is that the talent is already here,” said Lee. “They just need to know where to look to get connected, to find collaborators, and discover opportunities.”
A Platform Built for Community
Hollywood East Media is more than a company—it is a community hub connecting filmmakers, musicians, and creatives across the East Coast independent film industry.
The platform documents the creative process and amplifies voices across New York, New Jersey, and the broader region.
At HollywoodEastMedia.com, filmmakers and creatives can join a free community directory, list their location, skills, and contact links, and browse a dedicated events tab featuring film productions, premieres, networking events, and workshops across the region.
Workshops Coming to Monmouth County
Thomas Ryan Ward, Director of Community Collaboration for Hollywood East Media, is developing a series of filmmaking workshops in Monmouth County over the coming weeks.
The workshops are designed to bring local creatives together, support emerging filmmakers, and build new pathways for collaboration across the regional arts community.
“New Jersey and the East Coast are filled with extraordinary talent, but the community needs a home base,” said Ward. “We think Hollywood East Media will serve as that critical connection space.”
About Hollywood East Media
Hollywood East Media is an independent platform for creators and stories that move culture forward.
Founded by Pearl Lee alongside writer, director, actor, and producer Thomas Ryan Ward and writer, educator, and filmmaker Stephanie Long, the platform serves the growing East Coast film community with job listings, casting calls, production news, community events, and a free creative directory.
“We are so excited for the opportunity to learn about all the incredible projects happening across New Jersey, New York, and beyond,” said Stephanie Long, who oversees all digital, social media, and event engagement for Hollywood East Media.
New Jersey continues to rise as one of the nation’s top film production hubs, anchored by major facilities including Netflix Studios in Monmouth County and 1888 Studios in Hudson County.
Hollywood East Media is positioned as the digital home for the talent and stories driving that growth.
