Freelancebusting.com’s Kim Kavin joints Eric Scott on Jersey Thing on NJ101.5 tonight to discuss the approaching Oct. 1 date when New Jersey’s controversial new rule making it much more difficult to become an independent contractor becomes official.
The show airs at 6:10 p.m. on NJ101.5 FM tonight.
Kavin states in the interview that 1.7 million freelance workers in the state are at risk to have their earnings of work flexibility altered through the codification of the ABC test, adopted by the Sherrill administration last spring.
Senate President Nick Scutari has asked the Sherrill administration to pause the implementation of the rule, amid many unanswered questions and a host of carveout bills to the rule.
NJBIA, which strongly opposes the rule that drew 9,500 letters in opposition when it was first proposed by the Murphy administration, has also set up a form for freelance workers to pause the rule at njbia.org/ABCDelay.
The show airs at 6:10 p.m. on NJ101.5 FM tonight.
