Kearny Bank donated $592,295 to charitable organizations during its 2026 fiscal year, with much of the funding supporting education, housing and community programs across New Jersey.
The largest grant, $65,000, went to Junior Achievement of New Jersey to support financial literacy and career readiness programs for students. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark received $50,000 for its Critical Repair Program, while $32,500 in scholarships were awarded to New Jersey high school students.
All grants were made through the KearnyBank Foundation during the 12-month period ending June 30. Grants totaling $592,295 benefited nonprofits in both New Jersey and New York.
Other grants to New Jersey nonprofits included $18,000 to Tovah for its annual Back2School Store, $18,000 to sponsor the Robeson Classic High School All-Star Football Game, $15,000 to the Our House Foundation to help build a group home in Summit, $15,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton and $14,000 to the Student/Partner Alliance.
"Supporting organizations that strengthen our communities is central to Kearny Bank's mission," President and CEO Craig Montanaro said in a statement.
"Whether helping students prepare for the future, expanding access to housing, supporting families and young people, or making similarly essential investments, we're proud to partner with nonprofits that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives," Montanaro said.
The KearnyBank Foundation awards grants in five categories: education, community, quality of life, housing and scholarships.
Founded in 1884, Kearny Bank is headquartered in Fairfield and operates branches throughout most of New Jersey as well as Brooklyn and Staten Island.
