Large Companies Dominate Business R&D Expenditures
Companies employing more than 5,000 people represent nearly two-thirds (63.9 percent) of all business R&D in the United States, according to an analysis of NSF’s Business Research, Development, and Innovation Survey (BRDIS). This analysis focuses on business R&D by company size. Small and mid-sized companies made up the highest share of business R&D in Alaska, New Mexico and Louisiana. In Delaware, Michigan and Oregon, large companies made up the highest share of business R&D.

EDA, Governor’s Office Award $900K to Grow Local Innovation Economies
The governor’s office and EDA are awarding nine grants of $100,000 each to local communities to foster the local innovation economics across New Jersey. Called the Innovation Challenge Planning Fund, the EDA issued the grants to local communities which it felt demonstrated solid plans to grow their startup and innovation ecosystems, the governor’s office said.

According to Dean J. NJ Tech Council Announces Call for Presentations for Immunology/Oncology Conference NJ Tech Council is developing a Mid Atlantic Immunology & Oncology Conference to showcase I/O efforts taking place among companies and universities in the mid-Atlantic region. This conference will take place on Nov. 15 at the John Theurer Cancer Center, Hackensack Meridian Health, 92 2nd St, Hackensack with a proposed 4 pm start time. The goal of the conference, sponsored by the accounting firm RSM, is to give an overview of research in the region and establish a network among researchers.
