The WasteWise Business Network, a free educational program for businesses and organizations interested in recycling and waste reduction, will hold an online meeting next month with presentations about New Jersey’s upcoming ban on single-use bags, as well as other plastics recycling topics.
Steve Rinaldi, chairman of the WasteWise Business Network, said the meeting will begin at 10 a.m., May 6 with a presentation by JoAnn Gemenden, executive director of New Jersey Clean Communities, about the state law that will ban both paper and single-use plastic bags, as well as disposable food containers and cups made from polystyrene foam. The law takes effect in May 2022.
Other speakers on the agenda include Emily Tipaldo, executive director of U.S. Plastics Pact and Tim DeBus, president & CEO of the Reuseable Packaging Association. Angie Morales, a senior specialist for Energy & Sustainability at Merck, will also talk about the pharmaceutical company’s award-winning waste reduction and recycling initiatives.
