The “State of the State of New Jersey Manufacturing” returns on May 5 in a live Town Hall style event that gives manufacturers and executives of STEM companies the opportunity to bring the challenges their industry is confronting directly to members of the Legislature.

The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) and NJBIA are the sponsors of the event, which gives businesspeople in the manufacturing and STEM an opportunity to share information with members of the bipartisan Legislative Manufacturing Caucus and other lawmakers.

NJMEP and NJBIA recently announced a partnership, Manufacturing Counts, to broaden and strengthen support for the over 11,000 manufacturing and STEM businesses in New Jersey and work collaboratively with policymakers on solutions. The State of the State of Manufacturing event supports this by providing manufacturers with a forum to focus policymakers’ attention on the industry’s most critical needs, including workforce development, regulatory reform, and greater support for the innovation sector.

The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Thursday, May 5 at the Trenton War Memorial, located at 1 Memorial Drive in Trenton (across from the New Jersey State House parking lot). Registration is restricted to manufacturers, STEM businesses, elected officials, and the news media.
