Melanie Willoughby Named Executive Director of the New Jersey Business Action Center Melanie Willoughby was named executive director of the New Jersey Business Action Center, announced Secretary of State Tahesha Way. Housed within the N.J. Department of State, the Business Action Center’s mission is to help create and retain jobs while encouraging private capital investment in the Garden State. Willoughby previously served as government affairs director at the state Department of Community Affairs during the Brendan Byrne administration; president of the New Jersey Retail Merchants Association; and chief government affairs officer of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association.

35 NJ Companies Land in Top Spots on Forbes Best Employers List Forbes released its annual America’s Best Employers list for 2018, and 35 New Jersey-based companies made it into the rankings. The list was created by Forbes in partnership with Statista to identify companies liked best by employees. Forbes and Statista divided the list, creating rankings in two categories: the top large companies in the U.S. with more than 5,000 employees and the top midsized companies with 1,000 to 5,000 employees. The lists ranked the 500 large and 500 midsize employers with the highest recommendation. Two New Jersey companies were ranked in the Top 100 in the large companies list and three New Jersey companies were ranked in the Top 100 for the midsized companies list.
