Registered nurses top the list of most in-demand jobs posted to the online job-listing company Monster, but overall, the top 10 represents a diverse mix of industries experiencing job growth.
“We looked back on the labor market trends of 2018 so far to identify the top jobs posted on Monster as well as the top cities for finding a job,” writes Monster’s Lily Martis.
Both in New Jersey and nationally, companies are struggling with a shortage of skilled labor. Monster’s data shows that companies also need software engineers, supervisors, customer service representatives, and tractor-trailer truck drivers as well.
The trends are derived by analyzing what companies are looking for when they post to Monster’s jobs board. In addition to the most frequently sought positions and the biggest job markets, Monster also analyzed the most in-demand soft skills based on how often they were mentioned in job listings. The top three are oral and written communication, detail oriented, and integrity.
