Morven Museum & Garden has opened online ordering for its 2025 Spring Plant Sale as part of Morven in May, an annual tradition that heralds the beginning of spring and supports the exhibitions, educational programming and physical spaces of the National Historic Landmark.
The on-staff horticulturalists have curated the organization’s plant sale, which includes annuals, perennials, shrubs, and edible plants ready for spring planting. Online ordering ends on Monday, April 7 and pickup dates will be available in early May at 55 Stockton St. in Princeton.
Morven was built by Richard Stockton, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and later was the home of five New Jersey governors. After undergoing extensive renovations, the building located on 5 acres in the heart of Princeton now hosts regular exhibitions, educational programs and special events.
“Spring is an ideal time to become a Morven member,” said Megan Shackney, chief development officer at Morven. “One of the benefits our members enjoy most is the 10% discount they receive during our plant sale.
“In addition to free access to the museum, members enjoy many other benefits, including discounts on program and event tickets, museum gift shop purchases, invitations to members-only events, and more,” Shackney said.
The Morven in May Spring Garden Party, and indoor/outdoor gathering, will be held on Friday, May 16 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the grounds of Morven. Guests can expect breathtaking spring gardens, live music and entertainment, sumptuous gourmet hors d’oeuvres and delightful refreshments.
Early access garden party tickets are available through March 17 and supporters who purchase tickets by that date will be recognized on the event invitation and program. Regular tickets for the Garden party will go live on March 18. For more information about tickets, visit www.morven.org.
The chairs of Morven in May 2025 are Ronnie Bregenzer, Bill Ennist, John Healey, Rachel Herr, Sharon Litvinsky, Nick Lopez, Liza Morehouse, Robert O’Neil, Courtney Lederer, Chris Rice, Greg Rogers, and Lisa Ullmann.

About Morven Museum & Garden
Most historic sites celebrate one notable resident, but Morven is unique because it has been home to many remarkable people. Built during the 1750s and once home to signer of the Declaration of Independence Richard Stockton, Morven was home to five generations of Stocktons, then Robert Wood Johnson, Jr. before serving as New Jersey’s first Governor’s Mansion, housing five New Jersey governors, their families, and staff, witnessing nearly 300 years of history. Morven celebrated 20 years as a museum in 2024. Located at 55 Stockton Street in Princeton, Morven Museum & Garden is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the gardens are open daily until dusk.
