The New Jersey Sustainable Business Registry (NJSBR), a statewide program to recognize and promote sustainable businesses, announced that is has over 100 member businesses, a milestone indicating the increased importance of sustainability to New Jersey business leaders.

The Honor Yoga franchise served as the tipping point, with seven locations becoming members this fall; including Honor Yoga Studios in Hamilton, Hillsborough, Jackson, Manalapan, Mansfield, Pennington and Princeton.

The NJSBR is a partnership of the NJ Small Business Development Centers and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection.  The NJSBR provides a statewide platform to formally recognize and promote sustainable businesses across New Jersey.  Businesses that have implemented five sustainable practices and have shared one measurable result and cost savings are eligible to create a NJSBR profile and receive membership benefits.  Membership in the registry is free. Benefits include free marketing and promotional materials, including the use of the NJSBR logo on your business website; a “Sustainable Business” seal which can be displayed on site; a promotional profile of your company’s environmental efforts on the website, along with recognition and eligibility for the annual NJSBDC Sustainable Business Award.  Member businesses that are looking to take their sustainability to the next level can also take advantage of no-cost consultations with NJSBDC’s sustainability experts.
