Gov. Phil Murphy on Friday said the state was finalizing its plan for school closings and extending some MVC renewals to reduce interactions that could drive the spread of COVID-19.
In what is becoming a daily briefing on coronavirus, the governor said all schools would eventually have extended closings. The state is readying a plan that takes into account each school district’s different needs.
“Each district and each community has their own set of challenges and realities, and we will be guided not only by public health needs, but ensuring that the individual needs of those districts are being met,” Murphy said.
Murphy also announced that the Motor Vehicles Commission (MVC) would grant automatic two-month extensions for vehicle registration and driver’s license renewals as well as vehicle inspections due by May 31.
