The New Jersey State Policy Lab (NJSPL) will be celebrating its 5th anniversary on April 23rd, holding the first awards and fundraiser celebration to provide support for ongoing and future research and policy efforts as well as funding for the researchers, faculty, staff, and students that support the NJSPL.
The celebration dinner will be held on Thursday, April 23 at the Rutgers Inn and Conference Center from 5-7 p.m.
The follow will be honored for their work alongside the NJSPL which has strengthened policymaking efforts:
- Brian K. Bridges, Former Secretary of Higher Education for New Jersey
- Christina Foglio, Founder/CEO of Community Investment Strategies
- Senator Vin Gopal, NJ-District 11
- Senator Andrew Zwicker, NJ-District 16
The celebration dinner will be open to the public, but registration is required by no later than Wednesday, April 15.
The NJSPL will also be offering a selection of sponsorship opportunities for businesses and individuals interested in supporting their efforts. Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased through the event page.

In 2021, Rutgers University was selected by the Murphy administration to receive $1 million in funding from the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education to establish a policy lab to analyze solutions to critical issues facing the Garden State.
The State Policy Lab was designated as a joint research lab between the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers-New Brunswick and the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers-Newark.
Since its inception, the NJSPL regularly conducts rigorous, evidence-based, nonpartisan research that considers the equity, efficiency, and efficacy of public policies and programs in holistic and innovative ways.
