Alexis Bailey has joined the New Jersey Business & Industry Association as director of Government Affairs, NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka announced today.

Bailey, a former NJBIA intern who graduated with honors from Rider University with a Political Science degree, will complement NJBIA’s distinguished Government Affairs team conducting research and legislative policy analysis, with a strong focus on employment and labor issues.

“We saw Alexis as a rising star several years ago and we are thrilled to have her back in the fold,” Siekerka said. “She is keenly aware of NJBIA’s mission to advance New Jersey’s business climate and we know through her instincts, passion and hard work she will help us continue to advance that mission.”

In addition to her internship with NJBIA while attending Rider University, Bailey also served as a legislative intern with the U.S. House of Representatives and as a strategic initiatives intern with the Republican National Committee.

She was also employed as a Government Affairs and communications consultant with the New Jersey Public Charter Schools Association. Bailey most recently worked as a legislative research associate with the Kaufman Zita Group before returning to NJBIA.

Bailey will lobby alongside an NJBIA Government Affairs team that includes Chief Government Affairs Officer Chrissy Buteas, Vice Presidents of Government Affairs Ray Cantor and Christopher Emigholz, and Director of Economic Policy Research Nicole Sandelier.

“I am extremely grateful and excited for this incredible opportunity to return to NJBIA,” Bailey said. “I look forward to working with the amazing Government Affairs team and to serving the best interests of businesses in New Jersey.”

Bailey currently resides in Toms River.
