NJBIA on Tuesday announced a new partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health, the state’s largest integrated healthcare network, that enhances the infectious disease prevention training course NJBIA offers businesses to keep workplaces healthy for employees and customers.

More than 110 New Jersey businesses to date have earned Infectious Disease Prevention Training Certification after successfully completing NJBIA’s online course about best practices and proper policies and procedures for maintaining safe workplaces during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now businesses taking the course will also have access to Hackensack Meridian Health’s experts with the latest information about the disease and vaccines.

“We are pleased to announce this new partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health that makes our already popular healthy business certification course even more valuable to New Jersey businesses,” said NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka.

NJBIA’s online course allows participating businesses to work directly with SHRM-certified instructors from PeakPerformance to develop workplace healthy and safety procedures derived from the latest guidance provided by the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The three-hour course covers best practices for cleaning and disinfection, on-site health screening, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, social-distancing strategies, protocols for isolating employees who become ill at work, and more.

Now, under the new partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH), businesses also have free access to the Tier 1 services of HMH’s Keeping America Safe Assist Program These services include a direct connect hotline with quick access to answers from HMH medical experts; an online resource center with updated COVID-19 information and best practices; and weekly briefings containing reliable local and global information pertaining to the pandemic.

The NJBIA healthy business certification course, now with free access to HMH’s Tier 1 Keeping America Safe Assist Program services, costs $299 for NJBIA members and $399 for nonmembers. After a completing the course and submitting its healthy business procedures for review, the business will receive Infectious Disease Prevention Training Certification issued by NJBIA, along with a healthy business safety decal to display at their business location.
