NJBIA’s Chief Government Affairs Officer Chrissy Buteas has been added to the coronavirus recovery Economic Advisory Council established by Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin.

Buteas, who was named the Chair of the Economic Development subcommittee of the council, joins new members Vicki Clark, Board Chair of the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association, Joe Maurillo, owner of Nanina’s in the Park, and Joe Resnick, President of IQVIA for the working panel, which has a mission statement of providing “input and ideas to the Speaker and members of the State Legislature on how to move forward on recovery from COVID-19.”

“I’m pleased to announce the new members of this Economic Advisory Council who join the panel of talented experts in a vast array of fields,” Coughlin said in a statement.

“The council will work to expeditiously assist the Assembly in developing a safe and responsible strategy for the reopening of New Jersey. The Council will balance the needs of the economy and public health as it works to put our state in the best possible position going forward.”

The 38-member council held its second meeting this past Friday, May 22.

“I’m grateful to Speaker Coughlin to have the opportunity to bring the voice of New Jersey’s businesses and nonprofits to Speaker Coughlin’s Economic Advisory Council and to go about the critical work of helping New Jersey best recover from the health and economic impacts of this pandemic,” Buteas said.
