NJBIA Chief Government Affairs Officer Chrissy Buteas is one of several New Jersey women business leaders featured in the current issue of South Jersey Biz magazine, discussing how they’ve risen through the ranks.
In discussing the challenges women sometimes face in establishing themselves as business leaders in a story called ‘Leveling The Playing Field,’ Buteas said: “The numbers do speak for themselves in terms of women lagging behind in leadership positions in corporate business, nonprofits and in government.
“However, it’s just as important to realize that everyone is faced with different challenges and you don’t want to succumb to those challenges becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy where you don’t succeed. You just have to commit to working harder and being more prepared and being willing to take more risks. It’s a mindset.”
