The New Jersey Business & Industry Association was recognized by TechUnited:NJ at its 24th annual awards celebration this week for its efforts to grow New Jersey’s innovation ecosystem. 

 NJBIA President & CEO Michele Siekerka accepted TechUnited’s 2020 Collaboration Award during the Dec. 9 virtual event, which also served as a fundraiser for the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund and Newark Working Kitchens 

In all, 21 individuals and companies in the technology and life sciences community were honored for accomplishments in leadership, innovation, development, and collaboration. TechUnited:NJwhich was formerly known as the New Jersey Tech Councilselected the winners after reviewing more than 100 nominations. 

“NJBIA and TechUnited share a vision to empower innovators and inventors and build a more prosperous New Jersey economy,” Siekerka said. “We are honored to receive this 2020 Collaboration Award, and extend our congratulations to all the other winners.”  

NJBIA has been a leader in advocacy and research aimed at building a robust high-tech innovation economy in New Jersey so that the state can reclaim its former stature as the Innovation State. NJBIA recently released its 2020 Indicators of Innovation report, a comprehensive examination of how New Jersey’s innovation economy compares to other states in the region, along with recommendations on how the Garden State can better attract the capital, talent and businesses needed to grow its innovation ecosystem.
