NJBIA’s Innovation Summit Rounding out The First Year of Innovation and Technology Policy Committee

For those that missed it last week, NJBIA hosted the Second Annual Innovation Summit at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory on Nov. 2nd. The event was well received by the attendees, speakers, sponsors and press.

“We need to be stronger, more forceful advocates. If we don’t really come together and advocate for the kind of policies that are needed, the future could be very challenging in New Jersey. In my experience, individuals matter,” Hugin said. “State legislators, federal legislators are impacted by individual people who tell them their story.”

This was then followed by two robust panel discussions and a tour of the Plasma Physics Laboratory. Katherine O’Neill, executive director of JumpStart New Jersey Angel Network, led the first discussion on funding, highlighting the many resources and avenues for funding. Dennis M. Bone, director of the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship at Montclair State University, moderated the second panel on entrepreneurship, discussing who can play a role in cultivating this skill set.
