NJBIA’s “Minding Your Business,” a weekly business show that airs on News 12+, has been named the recipient of two 2026 Telly Awards.

The Telly Awards, which have honored excellence in video and television nationally across all screens since 1979, announced winners in all categories on Tuesday.

“Minding Your Business” has now received nine Telly Awards over the past five years.

The show won a Telly in the Government Affairs category for a discussion featuring NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka and Chief Government Affairs Officer Chris Emigholz on the association’s 2025 Blueprint for a Competitive New Jersey, a 28-page policy document that offers the state’s elected officials a roadmap to drive innovation and prosperity in the Garden State.

On the same episode, Freelancebusting.com founder Kim Kavin and former NJBIA VP Elissa Frank also discussed their opposition to the controversial independent contractor rule, adopted by Gov. Mikie Sherrill this month.

The show also won in the General Health Category for a discussion with RWJBarnabas Health’s System Director of Addiction Medicine for the Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist Services Dr. Alexis LaPietra on substance abuse impacts that can affect people from all walks of life.

LaPietra, who also serves as medical director for RWJ Barnabas Health’s Institute for Prevention and Recovery, discussed the many programs available to those suffering from addictions, and overcoming stigmas and cultural information that often serve as barriers to addiction care.

NJBIA Chief Communications Officer Bob Considine, who serves as host and executive producer of “Minding Your Business,” thanked the show’s sponsors – AT&T, New Jersey Business Magazine and NJ Pathways – for their continued support, News 12+ and Optimum, and all guests who have appeared on the show.

“Also, a very special thanks to NJBIA Director of Communications & Media Vinnie Civitillo for all of his hard, thorough and selfless work in pre- and post-production week in and week out,” Considine said. “He’s the straw that stirs the drink, but the last one to take a sip.”

NJBIA’s “Minding Your Business” was launched in late 2020, mixing conversations with New Jersey business owners and leaders and regular discussions on New Jersey business policy featuring NJBIA’s Government Affairs team.

The show airs on News 12+ at 9:30 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday, as well as 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

News 12+ is available on most Fios and Optimum systems in New Jersey, or it can be streamed live on the News 12+ page here.
