NJBIA Healthy Business Certification Course
Build Confidence for your Workforce and the Public
The NJBIA Healthy Business Certification online course provides businesses with best practices to develop policies and procedures for a healthy and safe workplace. It teaches the basics to identify, reduce, eliminate and report potential hazards at your workplace. Attendees will acquire knowledge about workplace health and pandemic response.
Attendees will work with instructors to develop workplace procedures and a documented plan. At the completion of the course, you will submit your plan to be certified. A Healthy Business Certificate will then be issued, along with a safety decal to display at the location of your business.
In order to best serve as many businesses as possible, this 3-hour training program is currently limited to one employee per company, per class.
Certification is provided on a site by site basis. If you have multiple locations, certification must be obtained for each site individually.

Participants become familiar with the standards and regulations set by OSHA, the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to make sure all employees function in a healthy work environment.
- Understand how to develop a step-by-step Healthy Workplace Environment Guide
- Learn best cleaning and disinfection procedures
- Review on-site health screening procedures
- Determine Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
- Discuss social distancing strategies
- Understand protocols for isolating employees who become ill at work
The training is for essential and non-essential businesses.
NOTE: Each interactive class is limited to the first 25 registrations. In order to receive the certificate and window decal, you must submit a plan that is reviewed and certified by the instructors. A sample plan is provided during the course. After your individualized plan is reviewed and approved, you will receive NJBIA’s Healthy Business Certificate.
Certification is for a 12-month period
