The state Department of Environmental Protection is seeking nominations for the 2022 NJDEP Recycling Awards, which recognizes the outstanding recycling achievements of businesses, institutions, individuals and organizations.

The awards, an annual program of NJDEP and the Recyclers Association of New Jersey, spotlight the success of businesses, individuals and others who go beyond the norm to advance recycling and are examples for others to emulate.

There are 10 award categories:

  • Institution
  • Business
  • Retail merchant
  • Government
  • Leadership
  • Rising Star
  • Outstanding Educator/Educational Program
  • Recycling Industry
  • Source Reduction/Resource Management/Sustainability
  • Volunteer citizen

The nomination forms, details about each award category and judging criteria can be found online at www.nj.gov/dep/dshw/recycling/2022RecyclingAwards.pdf.

The deadline to submit nominations electronically is July 22.

Several NJBIA member companies were among last year’s winners including Earth Friendly Products (ECOS), of Parsippany, winner in the business category; Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, winner in the Leadership category; and Riker Danzig Scherer & Perretti, of Morristown, whose environmental associate Matthew Karmel won the Rising Star category.
