A recent virtual town hall hosted NJBIA and the New Jersey Business Coalition drew more than 100 business owners and nonprofit leaders who discussed the challenges facing their industries because of the pandemic and state-ordered operating restrictions.
In this video clip featuring representatives of the restaurant, lodging and hospitality industries we hear from Anita Pfefferkorn, owner of Indian Rock Campground and RV Park in Jackson, and president of the New Jersey Campground Owners and Outdoor Lodging Association; Joe Cleary, CFO of Morey’s Piers in Wildwood; Bob Wagner, COO of Braddock’s Tavern and Ott’s Restaurants, and also the vice-chair of the New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association; Greg Goff Sr., owner of Casino Lobster Co. in Pleasantville; and Mark Bernard, General Manager of Charlie’s of Bay Head.
“It is completely unfair and discriminatory in my eyes that the government is doing that and limiting us,” Bernard said during the town hall. “Winter is coming and they know they are in for some tough times ahead and they’re not going to be able to make it.”

I recommend the Restaurant Association and NJBIA file a law suit prohibiting the governor from enforcing his executive order
NJBIA, what an awesome video. I can see the hurt in these business owners eyes and hear it in their voice. Their collective voice must be heard. I’m the General Manager of Norpak LLC, a supplier of foodservice paper to the restaurant, baking and hospitality segments. So goes their business so goes our business.
Kind Regards,
Mike
In all his great wisdom, Governor Phil Murphy has instituted a 10 pm curfew on all bars and restaurants in the state of New Jersey, just when the surviving establishments were beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel. This curfew will further cripple many, and finish off quite a few more. At this point, it is glaringly apparent that no matter what the measures, there is no slowing the spread of covid 19. Lockdowns, masks, social distancing…none of it works, as obviously evidenced by the rapid spread (which by the way, is only now apparent due to much greater testing). The heart of the matter is…you’ve either had covid, or you’re going to get it. Governor Murphy cannot legally mandate a curfew; it is not a law, simply an order with the threat of punishment. It’s a power grab. EXECUTIVE ORDERS ARE NOT LAWS. WE ARE NOT LEGALLY OBLIGED TO FOLLOW AN EXECUTIVE ORDER. EXECUTIVE ORDERS BYPASS OUR CONSTITUTION. This is not the American colonies in 1774 where the British rule… these are the United States of America in 2020, where you rights and liberties are protected under the Constitution. Small businesses have a right to earn a living, and cannot be told to shut down or close early by a governor’s mandate because it’s something that he personally sees fit, because of a virus that has a 99.5% survival rate. So what I propose is that all bar and restaurant owners unite, and ignore the mandate. Become unified in the effort. If all establishments proceed this way, there’s nothing that the state government can do to stop it. The goon squad can show up and fine you, don’t pay it…it won’t hold up in a court of law, because you’re not breaking a law. The way to making this work is unification; without it, it won’t. A fringe can be intimidated and bullied, a majority cannot. We live in a Republic protected by the most sacred text in all the land, the Constitution Of The United States Of America. Stand up and stop taking the control and manipulation you’re being dished out, DON’T GIVE UP YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL LIBERTIES AND FREEDOMS. The time to say enough is NOW. Bar and restaurant owners, reach out to each other. Form a game plan, pick a date to take your livelihoods and your rights back. What better night to start than Wednesday, 11/25, the night before Thanksgiving and your biggest money night of the year? If you’re reading this, share share and share again! Forward this to your bar owner/restauranteur friends. WE, THE PEOPLE, WILL BE THERE TO SUPPORT YOU. WE, THE PEOPLE, WILL TAKE NEW JERSEY BACK. WE, THE PEOPLE, WILL RE-CLAIM OUR COUNTRY. I will re-post this every day for another week, and then I’m done with Facebook for good…you can find me on Parler where free speech isn’t crushed by big tech. STRENGTH. UNITY. FREEDOM. FIGHTING OPPRESSION. It’s the American way.

I am not in the bar/restaurant industry. I’ve just had enough.
