The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its website. NJBIA strongly believes that if electronic commerce and online activities are to flourish, members and other online visitors must be assured that information provided online is used responsibly and appropriately. To protect online privacy, NJBIA has implemented the following policy.

What Information Does NJBIA Collect?

Most data NJBIA collects is used only to help us better serve our members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. If this changes, we will modify our privacy policy appropriately.

From General Users. NJBIA does not collect any personal information from users browsing its website. Only aggregate data–such as the pages visited, browsers used and the number of hits per page–are collected. Aggregate data is only used for internal and marketing purposes and does not provide any personally identifiable information.

From NJBIA’s Members, Program Registrants, and Other Customers. To gain access to members-only resources and make purchases on www.njbia.org, members and other users are asked to register and provide some limited information. All information collected is encrypted. This information is submitted voluntarily. NJBIA asks users to provide their name, company name, business phone numbers and email. Similar information may be submitted to NJBIA through membership applications, member data forms, event or seminar registrations, publication orders, and subscriptions. Additionally, for some emails sent in HTML format by NJBIA to its members through its electronic publications, we collect the number of times recipients click on “download images.” For those emails, NJBIA will monitor whether recipients subsequently click through to links provided in the message. Other information collected through this tracking feature includes: email address of a user, the date and time of the user’s click, and destination page.

How Does NJBIA Use the Data Collected?
