The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has proposed designating 749 river miles as C-1 category streams. This would result in those streams having 300-foot buffers on either side. This could impact wastewater facilities and development potential in areas in proximity to those streams.

NJBIA will be commenting on this and we are seeking feedback from our membership on both the ecological justifications for the stream designations as well as localized economic impacts. We are looking for a team of professionals to help analyze this rule.

To submit any recommendations or feedback, please reach out to me at rcantor@njbia.org. Comments are due by May 3. Please click here to read the proposal.
