New Jersey HMO Quality Report Card

To assess the quality of HMO plans available to New Jersey employers, review the HMO Quality Report Card by visiting http://www.state.nj.us/dobi/lifehealthactuarial/hmo2015/index.html or request a copy by calling 1-888-393-1062.

New Jersey Hospital Report Card

The hospital report card includes information on how well each hospital in New Jersey treats patients with heart attacks, pneumonia and heart failure using the recognized standard of care. View the report by visiting http://web.doh.state.nj.us/apps2/hpr/ where you can create charts comparing hospital performance over the past three years.

New Jersey Health Link

Visit New Jersey HealthLink at www.nj.gov/njhealthlink/, an online listing of the wide range of consumer healthcare resources, including all the state-run healthcare programs.

New Jersey Physician Profile Database

Interested in more information about your physician? Then visit the Physician Profile Database, an online tool which allows consumers to get information about a physician or podiatrist. The physician database Web site is located at http://www.njdoctorlist.com/home.jsp.

New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters

View useful information about employer-based health insurance in New Jersey by visiting www.njahu.org.

Prescription Drug Network Price Registry

The New Jersey Prescription Drug Retail Price Registry contains the prices for the 150 most-frequently prescribed drugs. To search for the lowest retail price for a specific prescription drug, please visit https://www6.state.nj.us/LPSCA_DRUG/index.jsp.

Hospital Performance Reports

IPRO has updated performance reports on its healthcare quality improvement website, comparing hospital-recommended care delivery to the improvement strategies of that nation’s top-performing hospitals.  To view the reports, please visit http://whynotthebest.org/.

 Informed Patient Institute

The Informed Patient Institute (IPI) is an independent nonprofit organization that provides credible online information about health care quality and patient safety for consumers. IPI rates the usefulness of online doctor, hospital, and nursing home report cards. http://www.informedpatientinstitute.org.

Hospital Safety Score

The Hospital Safety Score website – www.hospitalsafetyscore.org – allows visitors to search hospital scores for free and provides information on how the public can protect themselves and loved ones during a hospital stay.

Sharecare

Patients should visit www.Sharecare.com for detailed questions and answers on how to stay safe and protect themselves during a hospital stay.

Hospital Compare

Hospital Compare has information about the quality of care at over 4,000 Medicare-certified

hospitals across the country. You can use Hospital Compare to find hospitals and compare the quality of their care.

Comparing Health Care Quality: A National Directory

A map-based listing of health care “performance measurement” resources, the directory links to 208 free and publicly available reports in 46 states, as well as 27 reports with information on the performance of physicians and hospitals nationwide.
