Rowan University and Nebius, the Netherlands-based AI infrastructure and cloud computing company, announced Thursday they are working together to expand AI education and strengthen New Jersey's innovation workforce.
The collaboration brings together Rowan’s strengths as a Top 100 public research institution with robust online delivery capabilities and Nebius Academy, the company’s education and research arm. Together, the organizations will develop academic pathways that expand access to high‑quality training in AI, data science, cloud computing, and related technology fields—supporting both statewide workforce needs and the broader digital economy.
The effort aligns with Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s call for datacenter companies to invest in the communities they serve and help create high‑quality local jobs. The collaboration between Rowan and Nebius Academy advances that vision by creating new opportunities for students, adult learners, and workers seeking to reskill to take on emerging technology roles.

Under the agreement, Rowan and Nebius Academy will explore and implement initiatives such as:
- Development of online and in‑person programs designed for diverse populations, including traditional students, adult learners, and individuals seeking reskilling or upskilling opportunities
- Creation of stackable credentials, including short‑form training, certificates, and potential degree‑aligned programs
- Alignment of educational offerings with emerging industry needs, particularly those supporting AI infrastructure and next‑generation technologies
- Integration of hands‑on, project‑based learning and real‑world applications
- Collaboration to strengthen faculty expertise, expand instructional resources, and explore shared technology infrastructure

Nebius and DataOne are building a multiphase 300 MW advanced datacenter in Vineland, which will deliver dedicated capacity to Microsoft.
