A new, non-invasive device that manages opioid withdrawal symptoms, without any added medication, was spotlighted on this past weekend’s edition of NJBIA’s ‘Minding Your Business.’
Sal Rafanelli, president and CEO of NJBIA-member Speranza Therapeutics, said the S.T. Genesis is an FDA-cleared device worn behind the ear for five days that is having great success amongst patients who are addicted to opioids.
Rafanelli said that the device has a “very big appeal” to both doctors and patients because it is successfully helping to wean patients off opioids.
“The fact that it can work quickly, it is a cleared medical device, and it is non-drug and non-opioid is a big factor,” Rafanelli said.
