The unofficial opening of the shore’s summer tourism season is just weeks away, but with the state facing a massive healthcare crisis, shore towns that would normally be getting ready to welcome visitors are asking people to stay away.

As the Press of Atlantic City reported recently, Beach Haven, Ventnor, Egg Harbor Township and all 16 communities in Cape May County have either passed a proclamation or issued orders banning short-term renters, all to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

It’s just another way the pandemic is effecting small businesses. The article cited NJBIA’s survey where 93% of members who responded either are already negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic or anticipate being negatively impacted in the near future.
