Mary Gay Abbott-Young, CEO of The Rescue Mission of Trenton, was recently honored with the Visible Impact Award from New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies (NJAMHAA).

In presenting the award, Debra Wentz, President and CEO of NJAMHAA said, “Mary Gay Abbott-Young is synonymous with the Rescue Mission of Trenton. While all our providers serve people who are ill and have many social problems, Mary Gay literally gets people directly from the streets, working with the most disenfranchised individuals possible. She addresses their physical, mental health and substance use treatment needs.

“In her role as chair of the Addictions Practice Group, Mary Gay never misses an opportunity to ask hard questions and demand answers, either from the group or legislators and policymakers. As she advocates for individuals and helps them turn their lives around, she is a strong voice for the substance use treatment and other services they need. I am honored to recognize Mary Gay with a Visible Impact Recognition Award.”
