On the latest episode of "Minding Your Business" on News 12+, FreelanceBusting.com's Kim Kavin discussed with Bob Considine her new, eye-opening research report called "Extremism Vs. Entrepreneurism," which details the state’s policy approach to gig workers amid efforts to make it much more challenging to be an independent contractor in New Jersey.
"If you look at the attorney analysis for this… they’re using language like ‘this is an existential threat to independent work'," Kavin said. "One lawyer wrote that this would 'almost entirely eviscerate the ability to be an independent contractor in New Jersey.' You don’t hear lawyers saying things like that very often, let alone putting them in writing. That's what we're talking about here.
"What's happening here is not normal."
