On this past weekend’s episode of Minding Your Business on News 12+, New Jersey Department of Labor Director of Economic and Demographic Research Nicol Nicola discussed New Jersey’s latest demographic trends and what they mean for New Jersey employers and the future talent pipeline.
“We have a lot of institutional knowledge, we can keep [people] in the workforce, but then we need the pipeline, we need to transfer that knowledge to the younger generation so we can keep a competitive edge compared to other states,” Nicola said.
“And we are strong in terms of our economy because we have a diverse economy,” she said. “Think of how [other states] may be relying on a few industries like tourism, that’s not the case in New Jersey we’re very diverse and very strong.”
