On this past weekend’s episode of “Minding Your Business” on News 12+, NJBIA Chief Government Affairs Officer Chrissy Buteas talked with host Bob Considine about legislative priorities for the business community as lawmakers return to Trenton in September.

Buteas said in addition to addressing New Jersey’s highest-in-the-nation Corporate Business Tax, offsetting some the $1 billion increase in unemployment insurance tax is an immediate priority.

“There should be no additional fees that our businesses need to pay at this time because, let’s remember, all of the federal dollars that came into New Jersey were for the specific purpose of addressing the impacts of COVID=19,” Buteas said. “It includes funding the unemployment (insurance) trust fund.”

NJBIA’s “Minding Your Business” is a weekly TV show, and winner of three 2022 Telly Awards, that airs on News 12+ at 9:30 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday, as well as 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

News 12+ is available on most Fios and Optimum systems in New Jersey, or you can stream it live here.
