Two Essex County nonprofits – Wynona’s House Child Advocacy Center and The Christopher “CJ” Morgan Memorial Foundation – will collaborate on the 2026 Wynona’s House Golf Classic fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 10, at Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth.
Wynona’s House, which protects children from neglect and abuse and helps families heal with wraparound supportive services, is joining forces on this golf fundraiser with the Christopher "CJ" Morgan Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit that provides scholarships to young people who have shown exceptional leadership, community service, and extracurricular activities.
Participants can help support Wynona’s House by registering to play golf, attending the Summer on the Greens Luncheon Fundraiser, becoming an event sponsor, or donating to Wynona’s House. Attendees can also select “CJ Morgan tickets” on the Wynona House website to designate a portion of the proceeds to scholarships named in honor of the 22-year-old West Orange cadet who was killed in a military training accident at West Point in 2019.
“We are honored to collaborate with The Christopher ‘CJ’ Morgan Memorial Foundation and to recognize CJ’s legacy at this year’s Golf Classic,” said Robert Crocker, CEO and executive director of Wynona’s House.
“Our work begins with protecting children from child abuse and helping them heal, but it doesn’t end there,” Crocker said. “We want children and families to have the support, connections and opportunities they need to thrive. The foundation’s commitment to education, leadership and young people makes this collaboration especially meaningful.”
The foundation’s scholarship work also connects with Wynona’s House’s growing focus on helping families access education, financial resources and opportunities that can open doors for their children.
“CJ believed in leading by example, encouraging others and making a difference in the lives of those around him,” said April S. Morgan, president, of the Christopher “CJ” Morgan Memorial Foundation. “We are proud to collaborate with Wynona’s House and continue CJ’s legacy.”
The Golf Classic will also honor Morgan through a special on-course commemoration and a unique live auction opportunity.
The Sept. 10 golf classic begins with registration and breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The Summer on the Greens Cocktail Mixer and Silent Auction opens at 1:30 p.m., followed by the Summer on the Greens Fundraising Luncheon, the awards presentation, and live and silent auctions at 2:30 p.m. Golfers, sponsors, luncheon guests and community supporters are invited to participate.

Wynona’s House Child Advocacy Center is named for the late state Senator Wynona Lipman, a longtime advocate for women, children and families. Based in Newark, the center coordinates Essex County’s multidisciplinary response to child abuse and neglect, bringing together law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, medical, mental health and victim advocacy professionals.
