Hopeworks, a nonprofit social enterprise advancing economic mobility through technology training and workforce development, recently announced the appointment of Yet He, treasurer and head of financial planning and analysis at FactSet, to its board of directors.
He brings more than two decades of experience across finance, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and investor relations.
In addition to his leadership position at FactSet, a leading global data and AI solutions provider to the financial markets, He previously held senior finance and corporate development roles at Visa and Aptiv and has served on the boards of private companies in which he has invested.
“Yet brings exactly the kind of financial leadership and strategic perspective that Hopeworks needs as we enter this next phase of growth,” said Dan Rhoton, CEO of Hopeworks.
“His experience across financial planning, capital strategy and investment governance gives our board an exceptional ability to think around corners and make informed decisions about how we build a stronger, more sustainable organization,” Rhoton said. “Just as importantly, Yet genuinely believes in our young adults and the power of access.”
Hopeworks helps young adults overcome barriers to employment through technical training, paid work experience, career coaching and trauma-informed support. Based in Camden, it operates real businesses in areas such as web development, GIS and revenue cycle management, giving participants practical experience that leads to living-wage, permanent careers. This year, its businesses will generate 250 jobs in Camden, Philadelphia, and Newark.
He’s expertise comes at an important time for Hopeworks as the organization continues to scale its workforce development model and work toward its goal of creating 600 living-wage placements annually by 2030. As a member of the board, He will serve on the Finance Committee and work closely with Hopeworks’ Treasurer Ashok Madhavan and the organization’s new CFO to support the nonprofit’s financial strategy and long-term growth.
This appointment also reflects He’s personal commitment to the community, as he intentionally sought a nonprofit board where he could contribute beyond a traditional corporate role. What convinced him was touring Hopeworks’ Camden headquarters and seeing young adults doing real client work in a professional environment with the support structure to succeed at it.
“I was drawn to Hopeworks because of the organization’s commitment to creating access and exposure for young adults to opportunities they may not otherwise know exist,” He said. “My own career was shaped by access to opportunities and experiences that opened doors for me, and I want to help create that same kind of access for others.
“Hopeworks is doing meaningful work in Camden and beyond, and I’m excited to contribute my financial and business experience to help the organization grow its impact,” He said.
In addition to his professional experience, He serves on the board of a nonprofit youth soccer organization based in Princeton, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.
