On this past weekend’s episode of “Minding Your Business” on News 12+, Bob Martin, the former New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner and current Christie 55 Solutions Managing Partner, joined Bob Considine to reflect on the 10-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy with and the massive recovery effort he helped to lead.
Martin told Considine the importance of leadership in the face of the crisis, highlighting the efforts of Gov. Chris Christie.
“I was proud to be part of the Christie team to make (the recovery) happen,” Martin said. “Governor Christie’s leadership was the key priority to that.
“It wasn’t just one and done. The meetings we had in the Governor’s office with the Governor’s team and with other cabinet officers for rebuilding was immense. It went on for years to make sure we all stayed on track.
“What the first thing I learned from it was leadership matters. Governor Christie was incredible. The mayors did a phenomenal job. You had all of these cabinet officers, county officials that kind of rallied to be part of that leadership. But you needed one person at the top to make sure that happens.”
