The New Jersey Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP-NJ) will honor four individuals and organizations with Excellence in Philanthropy awards for their exceptional commitment to community service and outstanding contributions to the nonprofit sector.
The honorees will be celebrated at a breakfast event on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Orange Lawn Tennis Club in South Orange. The honorees are:
- Outstanding Community Organization: Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey
- Outstanding Nonprofit Advocate: Jason Krane, Senior Director of Development, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters
- The Robert J. Smythe Outstanding Professional Fundraiser Award: Kimberly Armenti, Vice President of Development and Communications, New Jersey Audubon Society
- Outstanding Foundation: Aspiring Kindness Foundation
“These awards celebrate the extraordinary achievements of some of New Jersey’s most dedicated citizens and organizations, who have tirelessly worked to improve our state,” said AFP-NJ President Natalie Krauser. “Our honorees’ efforts have a far-reaching impact, benefiting thousands of individuals across the state who rely on their services.”

The mission of AFP-New Jersey is to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education, promotion of ethical standards and other practices that raise the bar on philanthropy in the state. That can only be done when fundraisers, service organizations, donors and corporations also embrace these values.
The AFP-NJ Excellence in Philanthropy awards, established in 1981, have recognized nearly 220 fundraisers, consultants, donors, nonprofit organizations, corporations, and advocates for their generosity, impact, and dedication to enhancing lives in communities throughout New Jersey.
