Stevens & Lee Public Affairs announced this week that longtime government leader Christine J. Shipley, who most recently served as the executive director of the state Senate Republican Office, has joined the growing New Jersey public affairs firm as a managing director.

With more than 25 years of strategic advisory experience in state government, Shipley has a reputation among policymakers as a trusted, bipartisan advocate for pragmatic solutions. Cimino said Shipley will be a “great asset” because she is well-positioned to assist businesses and trade organizations with their legislative and regulatory priorities, and to guide them through the complexities of state government.
Shipley will advise clients across industries on key executive proposals and legislative developments that may impact their businesses and markets. Her deep knowledge of New Jersey issues includes healthcare, tax, economic development, energy, transportation, the environment, labor, education, ethics, open public records, elections, professional licensure and budget appropriations.
With the hiring of Shipley, Stevens & Lee Public Affairs has now grown to include nine professionals since its launch in early 2022, including other longtime government leaders. In addition to Cimino, the former executive director to the New Jersey General Assembly Majority Office, these leaders also include former Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission chairman and immediate past-president of Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners Gladys Brown Dutrieuille, as well as former New Jersey Senator and state Board of Public Utilities Commissioner Bob Gordon.
